CEDAR CITY, Utah – Stats Perform released its FCS Preseason All-American teams Monday morning, and the Southern Utah University football team earned two spots in linebacker La'akea Kaho'ohanohano-Davis and offensive lineman Braxton Jones.

Kaho'ohanohano-Davis was named to the first team while Jones was a second-team selection.

Kaho'ohanohano-Davis led SUU with 57 total tackles and seven sacks last season. The Hawaii native was named a Stats Perform FCS First Team All-American and Phil Steele Second Team All-American for his efforts. The redshirt-junior was recently named to the Big Sky preseason team.

Jones was named a first team All-American last season by Phil Steele and draftscouts.com. The Murray, Utah native was an essential part of an offensive line that led the Big Sky in fewest sacks allowed, only allowing five all season. Jones and the offensive line averaged .83 sacks allowed per game, which was the fifth-best mark in the entire FCS.

The full All-America selections can be viewed below.

Jones and Kaho'ohanohano-Davis, along with the rest of the Thunderbirds, take the field for the first time on Saturday, August 28, when they travel to San Jose State for the season opener. The game will be televised on CBS Sports Network with kickoff at 8:00 p.m. ET.
