Southern Utah University and the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Center for the Arts are excited to announce the second annual Arts Festival.

The Arts Festival is Saturday, April 15, 2023, with activities and performances occurring between 11am and 5pm throughout the Beverly Center. The event is free and open to members of the campus and the community. The event will include a Mini Art Show exhibition at the Southern Utah Museum of Art (SUMA), featuring local artists, as well as a chalk art exhibition on the Sam & Diane Stewart Family Foundation Plaza.

Local bands and musicians will offer live music throughout the day. On the Greenshow Stage, attendees can enjoy dance performances by SUU dance students.

To celebrate National Poetry Month, there will be poetry readings in Seminar Grove, featuring Michael Bahr from the Utah Shakespeare Festival. Stilt walkers, jugglers, food trucks, and hands-on activities will be available throughout the Beverley Center. Local artists and vendors will offer attendees a great opportunity to buy original art and support local artisans.

The event will conclude with the headlining performance presented by The National Parks, an American folk/pop band from Provo, Utah.

The mission of the Arts Festival is to celebrate the vibrant cultural scene of the SUU campus and the communities of Southern Utah by bringing together literary, performing, and visual arts. The Arts Festival would not be possible without the support of Visit Cedar City - Brian Head, SUU Office of Regional Services, Southern Utah Museum of Art, Utah Shakespeare Festival, and the Larry H. Miller Utah Summer Games, with additional help from artsFUSION, Cedar Breaks National Monument, Frontier Homestead Museum & State Park, and the SUU Department of Theatre, Dance, and Arts Administration.
