Canyon View Girls Wrestling Takes State!!

The Canyon View Falcons Girls Wrestling team ran away with the 3A State Championship, in competition at the Sevier Valley Center, Friday and Saturday, besting the second place finisher Grantsville by more than 80 points.

1. Canyon View 311.5; 2. Grantsville 229.0; 3. Juab 170.0; 4. Union 161.0; 5. North Sanpete; 6. Richfield 92.0; 7. Carbon 78.0; 8. Juan Diego 57.0; 9. Manti 48.0; 10. Providence Hall 42.0

Leading the way for the Falcons were Gemma Carter (G135) with a first place finish.

Brooklyn Barney (G125), Maitea Cardenas (G235), and Marley Castaneda (G120) with second place finishes.

And Myra Castillo (G100) with a third place finish.

The State Champion Falcons were welcomed home Monday, aboard a Cedar City Fire Department vehicle, while administration and students cheered.
