Canyon View Set to Compete in 3A Baseball Championship Game

The Canyon View Falcons have overcome a stumble in the 3A State Baseball Tournament to advance to the championship series, scheduled for Friday and Saturday at Salt Lake Community College.

The Falcons put themselves in the driver's seat with a 4-3 victory over Emery on Wednesday.  The win came after two wins over Richfield on Saturday (12-1, 13-0) and over Morgan on Wednesday (3-1).

However, in a rematch with the Trojans of Morgan on Thursday, the Falcons fell by a score of 8-1.  The loss resulted in yet another match up with the Trojans on Thursday.  The Falcons prevailed 10-3.

With the win, the Trojans were eliminated, and the Falcons advanced to the title series to be played Friday and Saturday.

Thursday, Union advanced through Bracket 2 play to earn a spot in the championship series with wins over Manti (14-2, 9-1).

The two teams will play a best of three series with one game Friday and Games 2 and 3 (if necessary) on Saturday.
