Cedar Reds Bumped From State Tourney By #1 Ridgeline
For the second day in a row, Cedar Softball has prevailed over a fellow Region 9 foe, only to be beaten by the number one seed in the tournament, the Ridgeline Riverhawks.
The Tournament is being played at the complex at Spanish Fork, with the finals on Friday and Saturday, scheduled for BYU.
On Wednesday, Cedar met Crimson Cliffs in the the quarter final qualifier, prevailing 3-0. The Reds met the Riverhawks in the afternoon and were turned back 12-0.
The loss pitted the Reds in a Thursday morning match up with the Hurricane Tigers. Again, the Reds came out on top 5-1. But Cedar didn't fair much better in the afternoon rematch with Ridgeline, falling 10-0. Cedar's second loss resulted in its elimination.
Ridgeline thus moves on the championship series to face either Desert Hills or Bear River in a best-three-series beginning Friday, with a second game Saturday morning, and a third (if necessary) Saturday afternoon. The finals series is set to be played at BYU.
