The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is responding to accusations leaders used tithing funds to pay for the City Creek Center shopping mall.  The claims from James Huntsman included a sworn statement from IRS whistleblower David Nielsen, who stated investment earnings from Ensign Peak Advisors were commingled with tithing from members.  Church attorneys call those remarks, "secondhand hearsay," and state confidential financial documents submitted to the federal judge overseeing the case prove that.  A hearing in the fraud lawsuit is scheduled for August 30th.
