Maybe you've never donated to a thrift shop before... But you've definitely  SHOPPED at a local thrift store, right? They have everything from clothes to toys to furniture... right? Well, Goodwill has tightened up their restrictions on what they accept for donations. Some of the items on these lists are pretty self explanatory. Others, however, make NO SENSE, why they won't accept them! Also, Did you know that Goodwill will only accept some items in one state, and some items in others?!

These are the banned items in Utah and Nevada:

UTAH:

Now, Goodwill runs differently in different states. But, it even has different rules in Southern Nevada vs. Northern Nevada too! If you've got questions about what you can donate to your local Goodwill, it's best to double check with your local Goodwill before dropping off any donations. However, many of the main things like Medicine, syringes, needles, weapons, ammunition, fuel, paint, and chemicals will definitely not be accepted no matter where you're you're trying to donate!
