Major Temperature Drop Coming to Utah, California & Nevada Next Week!
Alright, Western folks, brace yourselves for a brisk slap of winter because the first real cold snap of the season is blowing in next week, and it’s not messing around. Say goodbye to the summer vibes, at least for now. This cold front is sweeping in like an uninvited guest, and it’s dragging along a mix of chilly temps, blustery winds, and maybe even some early snowfall in places.
Utah: From Sand to Snow in 72 Hours
St. George is about to experience a weather rollercoaster. Temps will plummet from the 80s to the chilly 50s in just three days. So, if you were still clinging to your flip-flops, this might be your cue to switch to socks and boots.
- St. George: Dropping from the 80s to the 50s. Grab that hoodie! St. George mornings will also reach the 30's!
- Cedar City: Mid-70s to low 40s, with a nice side of snow expected on Tuesday. Winter lovers, rejoice. Be careful out there, Cedar City! The mornings are going to be in the 20's.
- Northern Utah: A more modest dip from 70 to 47, but enough to remind everyone that summer is truly gone. Northern Utah mornings won't be as chilly as Cedar City, but still in the 30's.
Nevada: Vegas Is Getting a Chill Pill
Las Vegas won’t know what hit it. The desert city’s notorious sun will be ducking out as the thermometer nosedives from 87 to the 60s. Better batten down the hatches for some gusty winds to add to the fun.
- Las Vegas: 87 to mid-60s, with some wind action. But mornings will be chilly, reaching the low 40's in the mornings.
- Reno: From 73 to the brisk 40s, with a chance of showers and some intense gusts to keep things interesting. Get ready for freezing temperatures in the mornings though, with temps in the very low 20's.
California: The West Coast’s Cozy Cooldown
California is getting in on the action too, albeit with a more chill vibe (pun intended). Expect a dip from high 70s to the mid-60s in most places, but Tahoe will be feeling the winter preview full force.
- Tahoe: A big 20-degree drop from 65 to the low 40s, and even freezing temps in the 20's in the mornings.. Rain and high winds are coming to shake things up early next week.
- San Jose: A 15-degree drop from 80's down to mid 60's, and low 40's in the mornings. A windy weekend and windy through the week!
- Fresno: Fresno doesn't have much of a chance of moisture, but they'll experience temperatures dropping from 80's to low 40's in the mornings.
- SoCal: Very minor changes from mid-70s to mid-60s, but fog and clouds will roll in to complete the “fall” look. SoCal will also see morning temperatures reaching the low 50's.
So, West Coast, gear up for a few days of sweater weather, maybe even dig out those scarves if you’re feeling festive. This cold snap won’t stick around forever, but it’s definitely about to make its mark – so plan for some serious chill time!
