I Can’t Believe THIS is Utah’s FAVORITE SODA

When Utah became a state somewhere in the mid-1800's everybody was drinking Sarsaparilla and they drank it because the water tasted like library books and people wanted to avoid drinking whiskey.

Sarsaparilla was invented by Southeast Asians who wanted to make something that tasted good, like Root Beer, but instead made something that tasted like Sarsaparilla.

After the war there were people around the country who demanded fizzy drinks because they all had dyspepsia because of how upsetting everything was. So, cola drinks became king and Ray Charles and people who drew polar bears made a bunch of cash because of it and they said things like, "Taste the Feeling" and, "Life Tastes Good" and, "Coke Adds Life" (which turned out to be painfully ironic).

There are those who believe that one out of every two women in the state of Utah drink over 100 ounces of Diet Coke every 24 hour news cycle. But then when they add in all of the Swig varieties they say it dilutes the number of "DC addicts."

So, this is why when some website puts out Utah's favorite soda and it's not Diet Coke people get that look on their face like: "Did you get multiple source corroboration on this crap, Bernstein?"
