MARICOPA, ARIZONA -- The Thunderbirds played all 54 holes at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic, finishing 23rd at 29 over par.

The Lopes of Grand Canyon won the tournament, shooting 31 under par, UNLV finished second at -29, and Iowa State was third at -28.

UNLV's Yuki Moriyama won medalist at the event, shooting 17 under par. Luke Gutschewski from Iowa State placed second at -12, and Matthew Pennington finished third at -11.

No player for Southern Utah was able to crack the top 50.

Rashon Williams had a brilliant second round going, he was six-under par and tied for fourth when play was suspended due to darkness but came out the morning of day two and was unable to keep that same momentum.

The Southern Utah University Women's Golf team will begin play today, in the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic on April 3 and 4 at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Course.

The tournament will consist of 54 holes of play, 36 being played on day one and 18 on day two.

Each day will be a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m.
