Pace Clarke has announced that he will be stepping down as the Executive Director for the Larry H. Miller Utah Summer Games in order to pursue a new opportunity. The games, which are hosted by Southern Utah University, saw significant growth under Clarke's leadership. Athletic participation grew from 8,010 to a record breaking 10,189 athletes in the 2022 games. He also expanded the operating season from summer months to year round events. During his time as executive director, Clarke saw relations with Cedar City, Iron County and the Iron County School District expand leading to an enhanced experience for community members. Along with that, Clarke supported increased economic impact for Cedar City through new partnerships such as the Iron Games and working with the Utah High School Activities Association to bring high school football and basketball championships to SUU. Clarke, along with his wife Amanda and their four children plan to remain in Cedar City, and he is looking forward to staying involved in the community. Registration for the upcoming 2023 Larry H Miller Utah Summer Games will begin on February 1st. Opening ceremonies are planned for Friday, June 9th.
