Senior Tevian scored 31 points leading the Southern Utah University Men's basketball team to a thrilling overtime win over former Big Sky conference foe Northern Arizona on Saturday. It took overtime, but the Thunderbirds outlasted the Lumberjacks 106-101 at the America First Event Center.

Senior guard Harrison Butler also had a historic performance Saturday scoring 23 points and becoming only the 10th member of the 1,200 point club in SUU history. His 23 points were a career high. The T-Birds had four players in double figures. SUU had a blistering 50% in field goal shooting and torched the Lumberjacks from the charity stripe hitting over 82% of their free throws. The lead changed 19 times during the contest, and the game was tied 14 times including at the end of regulation. The Thunderbirds out scored NAU 14-9 in the overtime frame to seal the victory. This was the fifth consecutive victory for the Thunderbirds over the Lumberjacks with the streak dating back to February 23rd of 2021 when the Thunderbirds beat NAU in Cedar City. SUU currently leads the nation in points per game averaging 91 points per contest. SUU hits the road for a contest with Pac-12 member Colorado Wednesday night in Boulder. They will then have the Christmas break returning to play on Wednesday Dec 28th in a WAC contest against New Mexico State in Las Cruces.
