SUU to Host High School Football Championships
SUU, through its Larry H. Miller Utah Summer Games department, will host the UHSAA 8-Player, 1A, 2A, and 3A State Championship events.
“It is a great honor to host Utah high school student athletes and communities from throughout the state on our beautiful campus,” said Jon Oglesby, Executive Director of the Larry H. Miller Utah Summer Games. “State championship games are the pinnacle of the high school sports seasons, and we are excited to continue to hold these championship moments in Cedar City.”
The games will start at 10 a.m. on Nov. 16, with the 8-Player championship game opening the day’s schedule. The 1A game begins at 1 p.m., with the 2A game following at 4 p.m., and the 3A championship game will kick off at 7 p.m. Tickets for the events will only be available online and can be purchased at https://gofan.co/app/school/
Campus parking will be free the day of the events, and it’s recommended that fans note the various construction projects taking place on the SUU campus. Additionally, fans are reminded to follow the clear bag policy instituted for SUU athletic events.
Southern Utah University would like to acknowledge Visit Cedar City/Brian Head, Café Sabor, Safari Hospitality, and Wittwer Hospitality for their support in hosting UHSAA and other high school events in Cedar City and throughout Iron County.
