SUU Women's Basketball looks to lay claim to sole ownership of the Western Athletic Conference Championship as it faces Grand Canyon University, Thursday (3/2/23) in the America First Event Center.

The Thunderbirds clinched at least a share of the WAC regular-season title Tuesday night by taking down California Baptist 83-75.  Tomekia Whitman led an explosive Thunderbird attack, coming off the bench for a new season-high of 25 points.

Southern Utah will prepare for its final regular season home game on Thursday, Mar. 2, at 6:30 p.m. MST, taking on the Grand Canyon Lopes on senior night. A Southern Utah win or a Stephen F Austin loss would result in an outright conference championship for the T-Birds.

Stephen F Austin plays at UT-Arlington, Thursday.

Regardless of the outcome, Stephen F Austin will go into next week's WAC Basketball Tournament, in Las Vegas, as the number one seed based on the unique system employed by the Western Athletic Conference to determine tournament seeding.  Going into Thursday's games, here are the current WAC Resume standings for Women's Basketball:
