Fayetteville, AR - Hayden Harward of Southern Utah University excelled in the 3000m steeplechase at the NCAA DI Western Regionals on Friday, May 24, finishing sixth and securing a spot in the NCAA DI National Championships.

Despite challenging heat conditions affecting many athletes, Harward delivered an impressive performance, clocking a time of 8:40.42. He placed third in his group and sixth overall, qualifying him for Nationals.

Southern Utah's Head Coach, Eric Houle, noted, "All the athletes struggled in the 5K today because of the heat. Travis [Feeny] also had a difficult time but put forth a great effort. Hayden had an excellent race in the Steeplechase, allowing him to move on to the NCAA national championship."

Harward will now represent the Thunderbirds at the NCAA National Championships in Eugene, Oregon, from June 5 to June 8.
