On Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 8:43 a.m., Cedar City firefighters swiftly responded to a residential structure fire reported in the 2300 block of West Meadow Street in Cedar City. Prompt action was initiated after a neighbor noticed smoke emanating from a window and confirmed the absence of individuals inside the engulfed home.

Upon arrival, firefighters efficiently assessed the situation and promptly extinguished the fire. Initial investigations suggest the fire originated in the kitchen, although the exact cause remains under scrutiny. A total of 17 personnel, including one fire engine, one ladder truck, one brush engine, one heavy rescue apparatus, and two command vehicles, were deployed to the scene. Additionally, Cedar City firefighters received assistance from the Cedar City Police Department and Gold Cross Ambulance.
