A California man is heading to federal prison in connection with a drug bust in southern Utah. Jonathan Vargas was sentenced last week to more than seven years on one count of possession of meth with the intention to sell. Two other charges were dismissed as part of his guilty plea. The case started when Vargas was pulled over in Iron County last summer and found with more than six-million dollars worth of drugs in the car. Prosecutors believe the sentence balances both the seriousness of the crime and Vargas's lack of criminal history.
