Iron County Metro SWAT Team Responds To County Shooting

A 38 year old male is in the the Iron County jail after being charged with shooting his girlfriend in the back with a rifle. James Cox was arrested last week according to a probable cause statement. Iron County Metro Swat team made the arrest after receiving a call from Beryl about a woman being shot in the lower back. Cox had apparently accused the the woman, his girlfriend, of cheating on him. Both the suspect and the victim claimed dogs had knocked over the gun and accidentally shot the woman as she was stepping out of a trailer.
