What is a Speed Trap? According to Google, a Speed Trap is a stretch of road policed by often concealed officers or devices (such as radar) so as to catch speeders. Or for common-folk... It's when Cops are parked out somewhere hiding hoping to catch you speeding!

Here are the MOST COMMON spots that Cops have set up Speed Traps in Southern Utah:

Headed West on Sunset Boulevard into Santa Clara:

The Speed Limit changes from 40mph to 30mph and the Cops are parked there READY to catch you speeding!

The intersection of Red Hills Parkway and Skyline Drive:

There's usually a motorcycle cop waiting at this intersection catching people speeding down that hill, headed toward Dixie Rock! The motorcycle is small, so it's hard to spot him. THERE'S EVEN TWO COPS IN THIS PICTURE! HAHA!

These little parking lots that view St. George, that people usually hook-up in? Yeah! Those parking lots! There's often cops in there waiting to catch you speeding down Red Hills Parkway either Eastbound or Westbound.

If you're headed towards Desert Hills High School from I-15, you'll climb this hill then BOOM there's a cop parked on top of the hill by those little old-timey gas pumps. They're always there trying to get ya!

This one is maybe the most common. There's always a cop waiting behind that hill RIGHT as you hit Utah from Arizona. Look out for that guy there.
