Every Player from a Utah College Selected in the 2024 NFL Draft

Draft night has come and gone.

Ball caps are soon to be replaced with helmets as a new chapter unfurls for each of these athletes.

Your favorite players at the collegiate level will soon be putting in the work for a variety of pro teams.

Utah and BYU may not have seen a player go in the first round, but that doesn’t mean the beehive state wasn’t well represented.

If you’re a fan of all things in the state of Utah, here’s the rundown of who went where, and when, for each Utah School.

BYU COUGARS:

Kingsley Suamataia, OT, 63^rd overall to Kansas City (2^nd Round)

UTAH UTES:

Cole Bishop, S, 60^th overall to Buffalo. (2^nd Round)

Jonah Elliss, DE, 76^th Overall to Denver (3^rd Round)

Sione Vaki, RB, 132^nd Overall to Detroit (4^th Round)

Sataoa Laumea, G, 179^th overall to Seattle (6^th Round)

Devaughn Vele, WR, 235^th Overall to Denver (7^th Round)

Fans can equip this type of data to their arsenal when it comes to rivalry smack talk.

The U of U can claim they had the highest draft selection with Safety Cole Bishop going 60^th overall to Buffalo.

BYU faithful can counter that their first overall pick, Kingsley Suamataia, went right afterwards (63^rd overall) and went to the defending super bowl champions in Kansas City.

Ute nation can then answer with the “scoreboard” argument of 5 draft selections to BYU’s One.

As far as the other schools are concerned, not a lot of debate to be had for this particular season.

Utah State hasn’t seen an NFL draft selection since 2020 (Jordan Love) after posting two consecutive seasons. (2019-2020)

Weber State saw a player selected from 2008-2010 in three straight years, but then took an 8-year hiatus to 2018, the last time a Wildcat was drafted.

Braxton Jones went in the 5^th round two years ago (2022) to give Southern Utah their last draft pick selected, snapping a 6-year drought at the time. The T-Birds are now on two-year stoppage in terms of draft selections.

Utah Tech has never had an official NFL draft selection despite contributing multiple athletes such as Corey Dillon in 1996, who played at then Dixie State before transferring and being drafted from the University of Washington.

Now we wait in anticipation to see what the upcoming collegiate season holds to see who might represent Utah on the big stage next time out.
