The Little Twist Fire, situated four miles southeast of Beaver, Utah, has expanded to 2,530 acres with a containment level of 20%. The fire, burning through steep and rugged terrain, has 326 personnel assigned to combat it.

Yesterday's aerial operations successfully secured the northern perimeter by consuming heavy dead and downed fuels between the active fire and existing handlines in the Little Twist drainage. This effort contributed to achieving the 20% containment. Smoke from the fire was visible from Beaver and nearby areas throughout the afternoon and evening.

On the east side of the fire, along the Circleville Mountain Ridge, crews are prepared for hand ignition if weather conditions permit safe burning. Firefighters have connected and improved most of the indirect lines on the west side and will focus on enhancing the direct fire lines on the southern side today.
