Governor Spencer Cox's office will provide masks for every child in K through 12 schools to start the school year.  During his briefing this morning, Governor Cox reiterated that the Utah Legislature stripped him of the authority to issue a statewide mask mandate, putting that authority on local counties and health departments.  Cox's office will send students N95 or KN95 masks to students who need them, giving them the option to wear them if they want.  Children under 12 years old still cannot receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
