(Cedar City, UT) -- Southern Utah University is getting back to normal following reports of an active shooter last week. The Cedar City school said it received reports of a shooter on Thursday, bringing classes and activities to a stop. However, school President Mindy Benson said the following morning it was likely a swatting call, which involves a prank phone call in an attempt to bring large groups of first responders to a specific location. University police cleared the campus and didn't find any evidence of a shooter or shots being fired.

(St. George, UT) -- Family members of a missing St. George woman are vowing never to give up searching for her. A candlelight vigil was held Saturday for Courtney Townsend who has been missing since stealing her mom's car last November. The car was found a few days later in Kane County, but with no sign of Townsend. The missing persons poster for Townsend says the 32-year-old has mental health and drug addiction issues. During the vigil in Washington City, family members spoke about not forgetting about her and updating information to help with search efforts.

(Panguitch, UT) -- Authorities report efforts to contain a possible breach at the Panguitch Lake dam are so far successful. Officials are working to lower the water level in the dam to be below the area impacted by a long crack. Utah Division of Water Rights dam safety experts are providing technical support to the owners of the dam, the West Panguitch Irrigation Company. Officials discovered the crack last Monday as a section of the dam started to tilt.

(Salt Lake City, UT) -- A man accused of intentionally hitting multiple women with his car throughout the Salt Lake City area faces more charges. Anh Duy Pham [[ ON u-wee fam ]] already faces six attempted murder charges, and is now facing three more related to two more collisions with pedestrians. Authorities say the collisions happened over a span of six months, and were initially thought to be accidents until police realized they were linked. Some of Pham's alleged victims were seriously injured.

(Phoenix, AZ) -- The Arizona Coyotes are reportedly skating north next season. A report from ESPN says players for the team were told Friday that the organization was relocating to Salt Lake City but didn't provide other details. Team owner Alex Meruelo released a statement the following day recognizing the "discussion in recent days about the future" of the team and plans to address it as soon as possible. The Coyotes have struggled to find a permanent home since the conclusion of the 2022 season. Utah's professional sports consist of the Utah Jazz in the NBA and two top-flight soccer teams, one each on the men's and women's side.
