SUU Names Two New Deans

Southern Utah University Provost Dr. Jon Anderson announced today the appointments of two new deans. Dr. Jeffrey Miller will serve as Dean of the College of Engineering and Computational Sciences, and Dr. Jon “Tony” Oliver has been appointed Dean of the College of Health Sciences. Both were selected after a national search.

Dr. Miller comes to SUU from the University of Southern California where he currently serves as department chair of the Information Technology Program. Miller previously taught at the University of Alaska Anchorage, the American Public University System, and California State University, Los Angeles. He also has extensive private sector experience as a software engineer.

Dr. Oliver currently serves as the Interim Associate Dean of the College of Health and Human Services at Eastern Illinois University. He has served at that institution as a professor since 2002 with a specialization in Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation. Both new deans begin their positions at SUU on July 1.
