Zion National Park officials are reporting a spike in emergency calls related to the heat since Memorial Day weekend. Officials say they have responded to about two dozen heat-related calls over the last month as the state saw record heat waves. They added that they typically see heat-related illnesses when temperatures reach 105-degrees or more. Officials expect extreme temperatures in the foreseeable future and urge visitors to stay hydrated, eat and wear hats, sunglasses or lightweight clothes to avoid serious heat-related illnesses.
