Cedar City SWAT Serves Felony Warrants in C-A-L Ranch Fire Arms Burglary Case
Friday (12/22/23) morning, Cedar City Police issued two felony warrants at a private residence on North 200 West street in Cedar City. While Sgt. Justin Ludlow stopped short of calling the situation a "stand off," Ludlow did confirm that the warrants were served by a SWAT team with armored vehicle, and that the warrants were in connection with the investigation of a burglary at the Cedar City C-A-L Ranch store in late November.
One person was taken into custody. Investigators continue to collect evidence.
The action comes exactly one month after three masked suspects broke through glass doors just after midnight, November 22nd, and stole a number of fire arms from the C-A-L Ranch store at 750 South Main Street in Cedar City.

Cedar City Police Department, via its Facebook page has released further details, including that the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) was intensely involved in the investigation and arrests, and that all three suspects have been taken into custody. Cedar City, Utah - December 22, 2023 The Cedar City Police Department, in collaboration with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), has successfully concluded an intensive investigation into a recent store burglary, resulting in multiple arrests and the recovery of stolen firearms.
On November 22, 2023, officers responded to a reported break-in at C-A-L Ranch in Cedar City. Preliminary investigations revealed forced entry into the premises during non-operational hours. Subsequent examination of the crime scene and surveillance footage enabled investigators to identify multiple suspects involved in the burglary.
Working diligently to bring the perpetrators to justice, the Cedar City Police Department, with the invaluable assistance of the ATF, conducted an exhaustive inquiry into the criminal activities surrounding the incident. The ATF's specialized expertise played a crucial role in the successful resolution of the case.
As a result of the joint efforts, three individuals have been apprehended and taken into custody. The arrested suspects, whose identities will be disclosed upon formal charging, are believed to be connected to similar offenses within the Cedar City area.
During the execution of search warrants at various locations associated with the suspects, investigators recovered a significant amount of stolen merchandise from C-A-L Ranch.
