Eighteen New Temples Announced At General Conference
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints plans to build another 18 temples in various locations around the globe. The new temples were announced by President Russell M. Nelson yesterday during the final session of the fall General Conference. The five temples in the U.S. will be located in Michigan, Florida, Nevada, Texas and Washington state. New temples will also be built in Korea, the Philippines, Peru, Nigeria, Mexico, Guatemala, Brazil and Argentina. Yesterday's announcement brings the total number of temples planned, under construction or dedicated by the Church to exactly 300.
