Woman Reunites With Doctors Who Saved Her

(St. George, UT) -- A Wyoming woman is back in southern Utah to thank the doctors who saved her life. Caren Connor visited St. George last week to reunite with the medical team that put her back together following a tragic fall off a cliffside in La Verkin. Connor's fall took place in April of 2023 and left her with a broken neck, spine, and other bones after falling 40 feet onto her head. She told ABC4 she caught a foul smell and was investigating what it was when she went over. Connor added that she still has some recovery to complete but is almost done.

Man Is Injured In Officer-Involved Shootout

(Roy, UT) -- Police say a 46-year-old Roy man was injured in a shootout with police this past weekend. The man was wanted in connection with an investigation by the state's Internet Crimes Against Children task force. The shooting happened at about 7:30 p.m. on Saturday when police say they pulled over a driver in a vehicle sought in the investigation but he fled the scene. Officers found the armed man and he began shooting at police who returned fire. The suspect was taken to the hospital and his condition is not known.

Copper Rock Golf Course Holding Fundraiser

(Hurricane, UT) -- An event to support southern Utah business women is taking place in October. The St. George Area Chamber of Commerce says it is hosting a fundraiser for its Women's Initiative with a theme of "Driving Women Forward." It will happen October 8th at Copper Rock Golf Course in Hurricane with a breakfast and nine-hole scramble. Officials explained business deals get done on the golf course and this event will make sure "women are included." The event is limited and registration can be completed online on the Chamber's website.
