Intermountain Healthcare is postponing nonurgent surgeries at 13 of its hospitals. Officials say their ICUs are at more than 100-percent capacity because of COVID-19 patients, majority of whom are unvaccinated, and their hospitals no longer have enough beds or staff to handle the surge. Officials added that patients will now need to wait for those surgeries meant to address serious, time-dependent issues. Nonurgent surgeries will be postponed for several weeks starting September 15th.
