Joel Flores was sentenced last week to at least 20 years in prison after being found guilty of murdering Richard Harper nearly two years ago. She was found dead in her Tooele home in early August, and authorities say 54-year-old Hector Martinez-Ayala strangled her to death. Investigators describe his relationship with his daughter as obsessive and controlling. Martinez-Ayala reportedly admitted to killing his daughter in a text message to a family member, and he has since fled the country. His current whereabouts are unknown.

2-Year-Old Dies After Being Found Unresponsive In Logan Canal

(Logan, UT) -- An investigation is ongoing after a two-year-old died in Logan last Friday evening. Authorities received a report of a child missing from a local home, and crews found the child unresponsive in a nearby canal. Paramedics began life-saving measures and the two-year-old was rushed to a hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.
