(Milford, UT) -- A school near Beaver is being recognized for its efforts in education. Milford Elementary was given the moniker of a Blue Ribbon School, one of just two in Utah to receive the recognition. The other Utah school to get the nod as one of the highest performing in the nation was Wasatch Elementary in the Salt Lake City School District. More than 350 schools in the U.S. were given the Blue Ribbon award.

(Salt Lake City, UT) -- Leaders and activists are getting real about the prevalence of domestic violence in Salt Lake County. The District Attorney's Office says it has filed more than 16-thousand domestic violence charges over the past seven years. Over ten-thousand of those were felony charges. The District Attorney called it a "virus that contaminates the full fabric of our community." One domestic violence advocate told KUTV it's important to remember that the crime is likely much more prevalent than the prosecution or conviction rate. Another advocate said she feels like the community needs to do a better job at embracing and believing victims. October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

(Cedar City, UT) -- More students are attending public colleges and universities in Utah. The Utah System of Higher Education announced this week an enrollment increased to more than 198-thousand students this year, a nearly two percent jump compared to last year. Cedar City's Southern Utah University saw the highest climb in enrollment at nearly five percent. Officials say this year's enrollment at SUU is the largest in the school's history. Utah Tech University in St. George saw just a minor increase and has an enrollment of more than 12-thousand-500.

(Bountiful, UT) -- Kathleen Johnson Eyring, wife of President Henry B. Eyring, second counselor in the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will be laid to rest this weekend. She died surrounded by friends and family in Bountiful, Utah on Sunday at age 82. She played an active role in the church, teaching lessons and producing a newsletter for her congregation. A public viewing will be held Friday with the funeral taking place the following day.

(Salt Lake City, UT) -- Singer-songwriter Post Malone isn't leaving Utah after all. Posty took to social media to clear up the rumor that he's leaving the Beehive State, saying "I love living in this beautiful place." The rumor stemmed from a conversation he had on the Howard Stern Show yesterday. Posty told Stern that he's looking to buy land in another state, adding he has plans for a "bunker" with a bowling alley and swimming pool inside.
