One Dead, One Injured and Arrested in Iron County Stabbing

Cedar City, UT – One man is dead, another treated for injuries and under arrest following a stabbing incident in Iron County.

On Wednesday (2/12/25), just before 530pm, deputies from the Iron County Sheriff’s Office, a SWAT team and Emergency medical personnel, responded to an area north west of Cedar City after a report of a stabbing involving two men.  One man was found dead, the other was taken to Cedar City Hospital for treatment, then taken into custody.

In a news release, Iron County Sheriff's Office reassured the public that the incident seemed to be isolated, and that there was no "ongoing threat."

An investigation continues into the circumstances that led to the altercation.

After interviewing the person detained in this case, the Iron County Sheriff's Office , and county prosecutors are investigating this incident as a homicide.
