Pedestrian Hit by Car in Ivins

(Ivins, UT) -- A person on an electric scooter was seriously injured after being struck by a car in Ivins on Tuesday. The incident occurred around 2 p.m. near Vista Charter School. Police say the pedestrian, who was not a student at the school, was riding in a designated crosswalk when hit by the vehicle. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital.

UTU Enters Partnership With Health Group

(St. George, UT) -- Utah Tech University is joining forces with a health group to improve educational resources and access. The school said it signed into an agreement with the Rural Health Association of Utah with the goal of "enhancing healthcare access and quality in Utah's rural communities." Both sides believe they can help each other "expand their respective reaches" and provide more opportunities for students. Utah Tech noted this isn't new for the school, as it has worked with RHAU on multiple projects in the past.

 

Utah's 31st LDS Temple To Open In June

(Syracuse, UT) -- Utah's 31st Latter Day Saint temple will open in Syracuse in June. Plans to build the temple were announced in 2020, and ground was broken the following year. There will be an open house celebrating the new temple from May 10th to May 31st. Doors are set to open on June 8th.
