Senator Lee Expresses Frustration With Prison Sentence For U.S. Sailor

U.S. Senator Mike Lee is upset with the prison sentence given to a U.S. Naval officer in Japan. Lieutenant Ridge Alkonis reported to prison yesterday for causing an accident that killed two people when he suffered a medical emergency while driving. Senator Lee says the accident wasn't Lieutenant Alkonis' fault and the sentence is unjust. Lee says if this is how Japan is going to treat U.S. military personnel who have done nothing wrong, the U.S. may need to re-evaluate its status of forces agreement with Japan.
