The Great Salt Lake Watershed Enhancement Trust announced today that it has secured about ten-thousand-acre feet of water since the fund was created. Utah State Supreme Court To Rule On Amendment D

The Utah Supreme Court says it will hear an appeal of a lower court ruling on a case involving Amendment D. A judge last week found for the plaintiffs saying Amendment D could stay on the November ballot but votes for and against the amendment wouldn't be counted. The court had ruled on a challenge by the League of Women Voters and others that claimed the published language on the ballot was misleading. Opponents say the amendment gives lawmakers authority to override and replace ballot initiatives. The Supreme Court says oral arguments could come later this month.
