At just after 930p Friday, a pick up truck and motorcycle collided at the intersection of 2900 North and Minersville Highway.  Cedar City Police and Utah Highway Patrol responded.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 27-year-old male from Enoch was treated by EMS and transported by medical helicopter to a hospital.  The driver of the pick up truck, a 77-year-old male from Washington City was treated by EMS at the scene, but succumbed to his injuries.  The identifies of both drivers have not yet been released by investigating authorities.

The initial investigation revealed that the pick up driver failed to yield the right of way as he was traveling north on Highway 130 (Minersville Highway) from 2900 North.  The motorcycle collided with the truck on the driver's side door.  The truck continued traveling north after initial impact, jumping the curb, and running into vacuums at the Tagg and Go carwash on the northwest corner of the intersection.
