Vincent and Danyale Blackmore filed a lawsuit against the city last week for allegedly violating their First Amendment rights and abusing the legal system. It started four years ago when a man broke into the Blackmore's hotel after the man told police he lost his room key. Danyale requested the man be removed from their property before an altercation took place and Danyale was arrested. She was later acquitted of charges filed against her, leading to the current lawsuit for wrongful prosecution.
Richins Appears In Court For Preliminary Hearing Before
(Park City, UT) -- Prosecutors say Kouri Richins was back in court Monday in Provo for a preliminary hearing. This was her first appearance since a judge ruled she would stand trial for the alleged murder of her husband, Eric Richins, in March 2022. The children's book author is accused of poisoning him with a lethal dose of fentanyl. Her trial is scheduled to begin in April of next year. Her attorneys asked the judge to consider a change of venue for the trial and bail for their client.
Murder Trial for Man Accused in Toddlers' Deaths Delayed to 2025
(Salt Lake City, UT) -- The trial of Kent Cody Barlow, accused of killing two toddlers in a 2022 car crash in Eagle Mountain, has been delayed to March 2025. Monday's delay follows the Utah Supreme Court's decision to allow Barlow's defense attorney to withdraw after his father's death, and the current judge's impending retirement. A new judge will now take over the case. Barlow faces two first-degree murder charges and drug possession.

(Tooele, UT) -- The Deseret Peak Utah Temple will be dedicated on November 10th. An open house introduced community leaders and others to the temple located in Tooele on Monday.
