Federal Agency Battles Mine Fire In Southeast Utah
Firefighters are working on ways to put out a mine fire in southeastern Utah. Miners were evacuated from the Lila Canyon coal mine in Emery County earlier this week after the fire was reported. The Utah Division of Oil, Gas and Mining was notified on Wednesday, the day after the fire began. A team working for the U.S. Mine Safety and Health Administration has now closed off the mine and overseeing fire control efforts.
