Weather patterns are expected to change for the first part of this week, and the National Weather Service is indicating that the potential of flooding is returning to our area. They have issued a flood watch for Lower Washington County and Zion National Park for Monday evening through Tuesday evening. The weather service has also issued a flood watch for most of eastern Nevada, including Lincoln and White Pines Counties. A Flood Watch indicates flooding could occur as a result of heavy rainfall, and especially impacts slot canyons, normally dry washes, slick rock areas, creeks, streams and other low lying areas. The moisture coming to the area is sub-tropical moisture from the remnants of Tropical Storm Kay. Forecasters in eastern Nevada indicate that portion of the state could see significant thunderstorm activity.
