Southern Utah has a new tourist attraction that focuses on relaxation and rejuvenation just outside of St. George.

The Zion Canyon Hot Springs, formerly known as Pah Tempe, Dixie Hot Springs or La Verkin Sulphur Springs, has just opened to the public, the Salt Lake Tribune said. This new attraction aims to be an addition to Zion National Park visitors, not a competitor.

What Is Zion Canyon Hot Springs?

The new resort offers three types of water and over 20 pools across the property. Taken from the Virgin River hot spring water, there is a filtration system that cleans the water from harmful bacteria and sulfuric smells, the website said. Don’t worry, there are still minerals and other natural parts of the water kept when put into the pool.

The Virgin River hot spring pumps out 7 million gallons of water a day and is filtered through to the pools every two hours.

There are also “world inspired pools” taking popular hot springs from around the world and the U.S. and bringing their vibes right here to Southern Utah. The website said there are 16 WordSprings pools at the facility including the likeness of the Dead Sea, Blue Lagoon, Hokkaido, and more.

There are family pool areas and 21+ pool areas so everyone can enjoy their relaxation time.

A hot spring may sound miserable right now, but there are also freshwater pools and cold plunges available at Zion Canyon Hot Springs. Plus, there are hydration stations, towel service, and cafes for both the family pools and the 21+ area. Right now, there are only mocktails available, but the 21+ Springs Cafe will offer alcoholic drinks soon.

There are discounts for Washington County residents who want to use the pools and memberships for all-year-round usage.
