Left Fork Fire Operations Shift To Mop Up Status
Firefighters have obtained 100 percent containment of the Left Fork Fire. The size of the fire stabilized at 4,239 acres. Some fire crews have been released and the number of personnel engaged with the Left Fork Fire has been reduced to 416. Command operations transferred from Great Basin Team 6 to Color Country Team 2 Sunday morning at 6:00am. Assigned resources will work to complete and hold, improve, and patrol direct fireline and will continue suppression repair plan implementation, including dozer line and hand line repair. And despite reaching containment, crews will continue to patrol and mop-up near the perimeter. The Forest Closure will continue to be reassessed but for now will remain in place until it is safe for the public to recreate in the area. A Red Flag Warning is in effect in Southern Utah until 9:00pm Monday night.
