Lightning Strike Causes Injuries At Glen Canyon NRA
(Page, AZ) -- Two people are in the hospital following a lightning strike at Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. The National Park Service says the two women were injured as a result of the strike while standing at the rim of Horseshoe Bend on Monday. The pair, both in their early 20s and from outside the country, had to be flown to a hospital in St. George for treatment. NPS didn't explain the extent of their injuries. Rangers reminded visitors to be mindful of weather conditions while out in exposed areas like Horseshoe bend during monsoon season.
Lyman Asks For Ballots To Stop Printing
(Salt Lake City, UT) -- Utah lawmaker Phil Lyman is asking November's ballot to not be printed while his case plays out. The Blanding Republican made the request to the state Supreme Court following his lawsuit to remove Governor Spencer Cox and his lieutenant governor from office. It's the state representative's latest move since losing the Republican primary election for governor to Cox by more than 37-thousand votes in June. Lyman wrote a message on social media this past weekend saying he will be running as a write-in candidate in the general election.
Suspect Charged In Deadly Millcreek Hit-And-Run
(Millcreek, UT) -- The man accused of a hit-and-run that killed 20-year-old Lindsey VanOrman late last month faces four felony charges. Police arrested 39-year-old Jonathan Lyman over the weekend, and investigators say he was driving on a suspended license and veered outside of his lane when he hit VanOrman. She was reportedly checking on an injured animal when she was hit by Lyman's vehicle. Police say they narrowed in on him as a suspect after a concerned citizen reported seeing a damaged white pickup truck consistent with the vehicle seen in surveillance camera video of the hit-and-run.
Hurricane Man Charged For Pointing Gun At People
(Hurricane, UT) -- A southern Utah man is facing charges for allegedly pointing a gun at people in traffic. Justin Lance was arrested Sunday at gunpoint for aggravated assault, which comes just weeks after Utah's new road rage law took effect. Police say they were responding to the call when they found Lance in his car at home. He allegedly had an open container of alcohol in the car and failed a field sobriety test. Lance was also charged with DUI and carrying a dangerous weapon while under the influence.

(St. George, UT) -- Utah is among the best states to live in this year. That's according to a new study by WalletHub, which looked at dozens of indicators from housing costs to education rates and more. The Beehive State came in at number four on the list, and received high marks for affordability, and education and health. It was the highest ranked state in the western region of the U.S. In case you were wondering, Massachusetts was ranked number one in the study.
