Officials in Moab are offering no comment on the announcement of a wrongful death lawsuit by the family of Gabby Petito. The Moab Police Department and the City of Moab both declined comment yesterday citing pending litigation. The department is accused of neglecting to provide proper resources last year during an altercation between Petito and her then-fiancé Brian Laundrie. Lawyers representing the family say the 22-year-old would still be alive if officers had been properly trained to handle domestic violence situations. The family is asking for 50-million dollars in damages.
