(Kane County, UT) -- A man is dead after a semi-truck crashed in Kane County. It happened Monday afternoon on State Route 14 when the driver reportedly tried to avoid hitting a deer in the road. Utah Highway Patrol explained the semi-truck ended up rolling over and left a 39-year-old passenger dead. The driver escaped the crash with only minor injuries. Troopers did not say what happened to the deer during the course of the crash.
Lack of Mudflaps Leads To Drug Bust
(Washington City, UT) -- A lack of mudflaps is responsible for the arrest of a California man in southern Utah. That's because Washington City police later found drugs inside the vehicle of a truck near the town on Sunday. Officers said the truck didn't have mudflaps or fender flares so a traffic stop was made on Interstate 15. The officers later brought in a K-9 to sniff the truck, leading to a search of the vehicle and discovery of more than 100-thousand dollars worth of meth and heroin inside. The 40-year-old driver was taken to Purgatory Correctional Facility and faces drug charges.
Wasatch County Authorities Seek Information In Fatal Shooting
(Jordanelle State Park, UT) -- Deputies are asking for the public's help in locating a vehicle that was at the scene of a shooting in Jordanelle State Park. The Wasatch County Sheriff's Office says a video shows a vehicle thought to be either a Jeep Gladiator or a Rubicon. A person inside the vehicle allegedly opened fire on a man who was later identified as 61-year-old Patrick L. Hayes. His body was found last Thursday at the front of the park. Hayes was hit by the gunfire and died at the scene. The medical examiner has ruled the manner of death as homicide.
Breeze Airways To Offer Orlando Flight Beginning This December
(Provo, UT) -- Breeze Airways is adding a new route from Salt Lake City that will make fans of Disney happy. The Utah-based airline announced yesterday a new service will take travelers from Provo to Orlando International Airport starting in December. The new service allows Utahns an easier way to reach Walt Disney World in Florida. The airline will fly from Provo to Orlando every Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday beginning on December 21st. Those fares will cost 79-dollars one-way for the time-being.
