New federal data shows the Beehive State ranked third in the country after outdoor enthusiasts spent nearly two-billion dollars in communities near national parks. Only California and North Carolina saw a bigger impact from spending. Two Utah parks were also among the most popular in the southwest, with spending near Zion National Park at roughly 676-million dollars, which was good for second place. Bryce Canyon came in fourth with 232-million dollars.
Utah Woman Accused Of Killing Husband To Stand Trial Next Year
(Salt Lake City, UT) -- The Utah mom accused of killing her husband and later writing a children's book about grief will stand trial for murder. A judge made that ruling yesterday after finding probable cause. Prosecutors say Kouri Richins fatally poisoned her husband, Eric, with a fentanyl overdose in March 2022. They believe she slipped the drug into a drink she prepared. She would later self-publish a children's book that centered around a father with angel wings. She maintains her innocence, and her trial is set for April 28th.
Suspect Faces Second Arrest Warrant
(St. George, UT) -- The suspect in the kidnapping of a St. George woman and her three kids is facing another arrest warrant. The St. George Police Department says there is a second warrant against David Remley in connection to last week's alleged kidnapping. Remley is accused of taking the three kids and Brittany Deal from a daycare in the city, but the group was found safe the next day and Remley was arrested in Nevada. The second warrant is related to the alleged kidnapping, while the first warrant has to do with a family fight earlier this month.

(Utah County, UT) -- The Utah County Health Department has confirmed the county's first human case of the West Nile Virus so far this year.
