A southern Utah motorcyclist is under arrest after fleeing police at 112 miles per hour. The man was attempting to escape the Washington City Police Department, who attempted to pull him over for a high rate of speed. The motorcyclist was identified and contacted via telephone, where he later agreed to meet with officers at a Maverik gas station. He was arrested after admitting to having an active warrant for his arrest and tried to avoid being pulled over.

A reservoir in Tooele is being closed off to the public due to safety concerns. The Settlement Canyon Irrigation Company said the move will be an inconvenience, but necessary due to its ice hazards. It's unknown if the closure is permanent or temporary through the rest of winter.

Tip Leads To Arrests Involving Drug, Ghost Gun

At least two people are under arrest following an anonymous tip involving small children, drugs, and a so-called ghost gun. The Tooele police department received a call from a tipster on Sunday notifying them of three adults staying in a motel room with a "significant amount of drugs." Police obtained a search warrant from the room and the occupant's vehicle and found the drugs as well as the children and the so-called ghost gun. The relationship between the adults and children was not made clear.

A man is in custody and facing several charges for allegedly holding a woman hostage. The man reportedly held the woman for five days while threatening her with a knife. The charges include aggravated kidnapping, failure to disclose identity, and aggravated assault.
