Age Changes Announced For Youth Classes, Priesthood Ordination
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is making changes with how children progress into the faith's youth program, and how young men are ordained to priesthood offices. Starting next year, children will complete Primary and begin attending classes for older youth at the beginning of the year they turn 12, instead of right after their 12th birthday. Youth will also move to the next levels of the youth program in the year they turn 14 and 16 as well. The change also means that young men will become eligible for priesthood ordination earlier than before.
