Record low levels of rain and another year of drought have new fire restrictions in place in Garfield, Iron, Kane, and Washington counties along with the Arizona Strip. Color Country Interagency Fire Managers say the restrictions are for all unincorporated county, state, and federal lands. Officials say fire danger increases exponentially from May to August in Utah. No campfires or open fires are allowed except on campgrounds and homesites and running water is required.
