>>SUU Fined For Recruiting Violations

(Cedar City, UT) -- Southern Utah University's football team is being tackled with recruiting violations. The Cedar City school says the team and its head football coach DeLane Fitzgerald were found to have violated tampering rules and fined five-thousand dollars. The sanctions also include not being able to recruit for two weeks this year and placed on probation. The NCAA said Fitzgerald made contact with players before they entered the transfer portal, which is not allowed.

(St. George, UT) -- A Washington County project is getting financial assistance from the federal government. The Bureau of Reclamation said this week the county's regional reuse water system project would be getting more than 20 million dollars, providing help with the roughly one-billion dollar price tag. The project involves creating new and expanded treatment facilities and dozens of miles of pipeline. The county's Water Conservancy District called the project "essential" that will give the community "critical water supply reliability."

(Herriman, UT) -- Herriman police are releasing more information about the fatal stabbing of a 16-year-old Valley High School student. Police say 19-year-old Keith Tyree McClendon, a student at Mountain Ridge High School, was booked into the jail for investigation of aggravated assault. After a nearby high school graduation ceremony on Wednesday, a group gathered on Solo Street and a fight followed. Police say the body of a teenaged boy who was with McClendon during the fight was later found inside a vehicle at South Breckenbauer Drive. The victim hasn't been identified.

>>Man Accused Of Kidnapping, Sexually Assaulting Teen Girl

(Salt Lake City, UT) -- A man faces several charges after police say he kidnapped and sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl in Salt Lake City. Suspect Tevita Hoihoi Mounga allegedly pulled the girl into his truck as she walked home from school, drove to a parking lot, and assaulted her. The girl escaped and ran away, and surveillance camera video and license plate information from witnesses led police to Mounga. He's charged with aggravated kidnapping, forcible sodomy, object rape, aggravated sexual assault, and interruption of a communication device.

>>Woman Is Arrested For Illegally Padding Paycheck

(Price, UT) -- A former employee of a Price charter school is under arrest in connection with the alleged theft of school funds. Police say Kalisa Lynn Fish was taken into custody this week. Pinnacle Canyon Academy administrators reached out to authorities earlier this month after they determined that Fish may have stolen more than 114-thousand dollars from the school. She was fired on May 15th. Fish reportedly handled payroll and other HR duties at the school and is accused of adding "special" pay to her check at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
