Cedar City Police were dispatched to the America First Credit Union inside of Lin's Marketplace this morning around 9:40am today. Officers were responding to an alarm where a teller had been robbed. Officers arrived swiftly on scene and mad immediate contact with the suspect. The suspect was identified as a client that is in a day program, and he had ran away from staff. The suspect went inside the store where he put his hooded sweatshirt over his head and walked up to the teller. He then made motions inside his pocket that indicated he had a weapon and demanded money from the teller. The teller gave the suspect and undisclosed amount of cash, and the suspect then began to run towards the exit of the store. He was stopped by staff in the store. The staff members contacted the police department. The money was recovered and no weapon was found on the suspect. The suspect was placed in custody and booked in the the Iron County Correctional Facility.
